My name is Dale E. Cox. I write under the pseudonym, William D. Bramlett. Living the past 40 years in Minnesota, I grew up living in several states in the southeastern U.S. My writing began with junior and high school publications. Poetry and song lyrics in college were my escape from class papers. After a career of transforming business ideas into legal documents, I have, at last, settled into a passion for writing novels. An author of historical fiction, my characters and subjects are born from a love of history along with extensive travels throughout nearly every continent on the globe. A lifelong student of history and geography, I am a dedicated outdoorsman who loves dogs and watching birds. Easy to admit, my family is more important than all the above.
My books are available primarily in eBook and Paperback format from Amazon. They are also available to Kindle Unlimited subscribers. A search of Dale E Cox MN Author can find me on Amazon and other sites.
My first book, "Shorty," was written to honor the black man who helped raise my father's family during the Great Depression. Based on true accounts and written in first -
person, the story is told from the point of view of an eight-year-old boy. As the boy
grows to manhood, Shorty teaches him all people should be treated the same regardless
of skin color or other differences. Discrimination, Racism, and Prejudice plagued northern Mississippi and many other parts of the U.S. during the 1930s. Shorty's story is significant in our time of reflection and action on social injustice.
"Rose Mountain" is my second book. A story of the struggles of three young American soldiers, Rose Mountain shows the human side of World War II. Three young men from
German-speaking families in Pennsylvania are chosen to infiltrate Adolf Hitler's
nuclear weapons project. An amazing Belgian Major helps them cross Belgium,
and Germany while staying one step ahead of a ruthless German Major whose task is to stop them.
"The King's Feast Series" is a Trilogy, "The King's Feast," "Queen Elizabeth's Feast," and "Emma and the King," follow a twist of history on the fate of Mary Queen of Scots. Once each year, on the dais in Westminster Abbey, in London, dead Kings and Queens leave their graves for the King's Feast. Queen Mary calls a young man from 250 years in
the future to her aid to prevent the loss of her monarchy and her beheading. The series continues
in 1578 as the Spanish King sends his Armada against England. The Scottish Prince James is kidnapped. Queen Elizabeth I calls a financial executive from 2018 to the King's Feast. Francis Ramsay's attempts to locate Queen Mary's son, Prince James, are complicated by his concern for another, dearer to him. The Series concludes as Prince James becomes King of England. His lifelong friend, Emma Ramsay, is tasked at the King's Feast to save him.
